Drying is required throughout the lifecycle of all process equipment used in the Refinery, Petrochemical and Pipeline Industries. There are different techniques and types of drying equipment to be used for drying and much depends on the type of system to be dried. A complex process system requires a totally different drying strategy to a straight pipeline.
Techniques include: blowing the system with dry air, nitrogen, flushing with chemicals e.g glycol, methanol etc. vacuum drying and others. Drying can also be used for mothballing & preservation of lines & process plants, effectiveness can be improved by the addition of preservation chemicals such a vapour phase inhibitors. We can assist with every stage of the drying operation, from designing the drying technique most suited to the scope to providing the equipment and trained personnel required.
Drying of Pipelines & Process systems is one of our oldest and most basic services. Whether you just need to remove residual water from the system, or need to dry to dewpoints of (minus) -600C, we have a range of equipment to suit the application.
The secret of a successful drying operation is to know the system or pipeline to be dried and “engineer” the drying program using experience to establish which method & technique would be the most cost effective and suitable solution.
